The Presidency*

He was the seventh president Jackson believed in a strong presidency.  Jackson also believed in a strong union.  In 1832 he signed a tarriff but South Carolina thought that it was to high.  He lead troops against them in both the Creek War, and First Seminole War.  This lead to the Indian Removal Act in 1830.  With this act, about 25% of the indians were dead before they reached there new land in Oklahoma.  The referred the march as the "Trail of Tears".
